Hurl with Me Programme 2011
Hurl with Me Programme 2011
A number of parents/guardians have recently enquired about doing a course in order to become more involved in training. The Hurl with me programme is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to learn more about coaching. In order for us to facilitate the course we need 20 adults willing and interested in taking part. – Please contact your daughter's coach if you wish to sign up!
We are running 3 courses in conjunction with the CORK SPORTS PARTNERSHIP of the Hurl with Me Programme before Christmas
The following are the details of the course:
Six week course given by tutor
Parents/guardians will receive a hurley, t-shirt, booklet, sliotar (appropriate to their child’s age) and insurance.
The course is aimed at getting parents more confident about getting involved with your camogie club, and is aimed at mothers, fathers or guardians of underage club players.
At each session:
- Warm up
- Children go with mentor for small session/parent stay with tutor
- Parents are shown a skill (different one each week) to teach their own child
- Parent and child join up to go through new skill and a drill will be shown and then practiced between parent and child
- Finish with the skill being revised and then a warm down
The course will be starting Monday 14th November at 6.30 - 8.00 in the All Weather pitch, so please contact your daughters coach a.s.a.p. if you wish to take part, or have further queries. In future it will be from 6.30 to 7.30pm. The club has kindly offered to cover the cost of the course.
