The passion and enthusiasm of Ballygarvan folk for the ancient game of Iománaíocht is referred to reverently in stories and song and chronicled in ballad sheets and other annals.
Senior Club The senior club promotes hurling and football activities for adult playing members. Teams compete in the county intermediate hurling and South East division football competitions. The club has grown from strength to strength and currently has in excess of 150 members. In 1995, the club won the county under 12A, under 14B and under 16C competitions.
Juvenile Club The junior section of Ballygarvan GAA Club has been on the go now for over thirty years. In 1978 a small group of dedicated individuals decided, in conjunction with the adult club, to break away from the then Owenabue Rovers to form the now successful and very vibrant under-age section of Ballygarvan GAA Club.
