Clubhouse
The Ballygarvan Camogie club was re-formed in 1988 after a lapse of several years. Nora Brady who we regard as the founding member went to tremendous trouble to get the club off on the right footing. Nobody could have envisaged at the time that the club would have such outstanding success. In the intervening years, many people and many players have worked tremendously hard to bring the club to the forefront of the county. In that short time, seven South-East and eleven county titles have been won from Under-11 to Junior-A, and history was made this year when we fielded in the Senior championship. Also in this time some of our players have represented their division and county with great distinction, and some of our mentors have played leading roles with Carrigdhoun and Cork.
The following is a list of officers who have guided the club through the good days and bad over the past thirteen years. Eily Kidney, Yvonne Lane, Noreen Daly, Gay Foster, Sadie Mackey, Pauline Dillon, Ashling Marshall, Mary Ellen Doody, Mary Barrett, Pat Carolan, Margaret Bouse, Billy Dillon, Nora O Sullivan, Mary Hurley, Pauline Browne, Ollie Hallahan, Anne Byrne, Mary McCarthy. Trainers and mentors who have coached and looked after the girls in a very professional manner include: Nora Brady, Gay Foster, Michael Barrett, Jim Kelly, Ollie Hallahan, Neil O Sullivan, Billy Dillon, Brid Browne, Kathleen Crowley, Pat Bouse, Michael Moynihan, Joan O Riordan, Michael O Brien, Con Cottrell, Tom Nott, John O Sullivan, Norma Brady, Bridget Hallahan, Mary Ellen Doody, Rachel McCarthy, Maura Lane, Nora Hallahan. Kathleen Crowley, Pat Bouse, Michael Moynihan, Joan O Riordan, Michael O Brien, Con Cottrell, Tom Nott, John O Sullivan, Norma Brady, Bridget Hallahan, Mary Ellen Doody, Rachel McCarthy, Maura Lane, Nora Hallahan. Mary Hurley represented the club as treasurer and chairperson of the Carrigdhoun division. Billy Dillon acted as PRO. Kathleen Crowley, Michael Barrett, Ollie Hallahan and Billy Dillon all acted as selectors for the division.
