Coach Education with George O'Connor
Coach Education Programme Autumn 2008 – Ballygarvan GAA Club in conjunction with the County Games Development Committee are hosting a series of workshops for club coaches of all age groups who wish to advance the standard of their own coaching within the club. Monday 27th October, Mallow GAA Club 7pm. Hurling Workshop.
Tutor: George O’Connor. George will look at how to coach players to win the ball, how to successfully defend against opponents, and also decision making drills.
Monday 3rd November, Na Piarsaigh Club 7pm. Hurling Workshop.
Tutor: Pat Moore. Following on from his sell out recent workshop, Pat Moore returns to the Na Piarsaigh venue and will focus on the art of striking from the hand - striking skills.
Monday 10th November, Na Piarsaigh GAA Club 7pm. Hurling Workshop.
Tutor: Martin Fogarty. Martin is the Kilkenny hurling trainer and will demonstrate defensive and attacking skills and skills that coaches typically do not emphasise enough in club hurling.
Monday 17th November, Mallow GAA Club 7pm. Football Workshop.
Tutor: Pat O Shea. Pat is the former Kerry football manager and will demonstrate advanced drills that develop team attacking play.
Monday 24th November, Convent Hall, Clonakilty, 7 pm. Football Workshop.
Tutor: Vince Cooper. Vince is Kerry based and operates across the province as Games Development Officer.
These workshops will begin at 7pm and end at 9pm with 15 minutes at the end for Q and A. Please bring a biro and paper to take notes of the drills and activities.
