Ballygarvan 1-9 Mallow 1-8

Ballygarvan captured the Cork County Minor B Camogie Title with a hard fough one point victory in the final against Mallow, played in Mahon today.

In a superb team performance, Ballygarvan lead 0-5 to 0-4 at half time. A goal from Rachel Keohane 10 minutes into the second half put the winners in the driving seat, but a late Mallow goal left only a point between the teams, as Ballygarvan held on for a well deserved victory.

Team captain Lauren Kennefick accepted the trophy, while Lorraine Browne won the player of the match award.

Congratulations to all the players, team coach Brendan Murphy, Michael Moynihan and everyone involved in this great victory.

Senior Camogie news

Senior Team Well done to the Senior team that participated in the recent Pan Celtic festival in Dingle recently. They won their first three matches in the Senior A section to reach the final versus Burgess Duharra, last year’s Tipperary county finalists. They were unfortunate in the final in that one of their most experienced players picked up an injury. Yet the remaining players fought hard and did the club proud.
