A number of Award 1 Coaching Courses will begin over the coming weeks. These courses will take place in Ballincollig, Mallow and West Cork. The Award 1 Coaching Course is a very worthwhile course for any coach looking to progress their knowledge of coaching, refresh what they already know and get new ideas from the tutors and participants alike. All coaches who wish to do an Award 1 Course must have completed the new Foundation Course. Some of the topics to be covered are Role of the Coach, Communication, Technical Proficiency, Tactical Prowess, Team Play, Physical Fitness, Playing Facts and Psychological Focus. The Award 1 qualification is broken into 3 separate courses – Award 1 Child for Coaches of Children up to 13 years old, Award 1 Youth for Coaches of Youths from 13 to 17 years old and Award 1 Adult for Coaches of players from 18 years old and upwards. Depending on which age category you usually coach or would like to coach you would do the course that reflects this. For example a primary school teacher might do the Award 1 Child and a secondary school teacher might do the Award 1 Youth. The courses that we have on offer over the coming weeks are Youth and Adult Award 1 Courses. We have done Award 1 Child Courses in the past and plan to do more towards the end of 2012. Places are limited on all courses and will be filled on a first come first served basis so book early to avoid disappointment.

Proposed Redevelopment of Pairc Ui Chaoimh

Bob Ryan Chairman wishes to announce on behalf of Cork County GAA Board  the appointment of the Design Team to prepare the Planning Application and detailed design for the long awaited re-development of Pairc Uí Chaoimh. The design team will commence work immediately.  The capacity of the stadium will be 45,000.
