Shane Goes to the Mountain!
Shane O’Leary, dual star hurler and footballer takes on the Mount Kenya Challenge in March 2009. Shane is fundraising for the ChildAid charity, a voluntary organisation run by the Irish Defence Forces. This particular event is to raise money for completion of the Kwa Njenga Primary School and the building of a maternity unit at the foot of Kilmanjaro. Shane is joined by Cork Airport Police-Fire Service colleagues Kevin Cotter and Ray Dennehy on the climb. The trio are funding their own travel on their way to the summit of Africa's second highest mountain peak. Donations and support towards the building fund very much appreciated.
