Ballygarvan played their third match in the South East league U16 football league series against Crosshaven on Sunday 19 April. This was an away game for Ballygarvan, the game was played in excellent weather conditions with the familiar April showers replaced with some beautiful rays of sunshine. Ballygarvan were first to register on the score board with a splendid point by Donald O' Sullivan, however Crosshaven responded quickly with the equaliser and proved to be very dominant over the remaining first half. Crosshaven had a commanding & deserving lead at the interval. Ballygarvan had a mountain to climb in the second half if they were to turn around this game, but to be fair to the visitors they showed a tremendous improvement in the second half and scored 3-4, this was not enough & Crosshaven ran out worthy winners at the end but there were a lot of positives in Ballygarvan's second half display. This event marks the end of football for a few weeks to allow the commencement of the hurling league which gets underway next week.
