Ballygarvan U11 player Richard Cassidy clinched a historic Sciath na Scol Roinn 1 Football win for St. Anthony's BNS (Ballinlough) over St. Columba's (Douglas) with a superb point in the closing minutes of this epic contest. St. Anthony's won on a scoreline of 2-5 to 1-6 in what was the first Sciath na Scol Final to be played under lights in Pairc Ui Rinn on Thursday, 20 November 2008. Richard's performance capped off a great week - as he won a SE U11 Hurling Championship medal on Sunday last when Ballygarvan defeated Shamrocks in the Final. The future is bright for this young Garvan!
