Ballygarvan started very brightly in the first half, typified with two lovely points from Dan McCarthy from out near the sideline and an excellent point from Jason O’ Callaghan from close to mid-field. However, the frees awarded against Ballygarvan and the outstanding free taking by Tracton’s centre forward and centre back which had Tracton only trailing by a single point at half time.

In the fading light in the second half, Tracton fought back almost immediately to draw the game level. Tracton built on that, leading by a score line of 0-12 to 0-09 before Ballygarvan scored again. Gearóid Dunton got Ballygarvan’s first point in the second half and there were further points from Dan McCarthy and Emmet Aherne, however it wasn’t enough to bring them back into the game.

The final score was Ballygarvan 0-12 Tracton 0-15.
